| Deeside Orchestra's Innaugural Concert |
| Around 150 people attended the
innaugural performance of the Deeside Orchestra at Aboyne Community Centre on Friday night. Included in the Programme for that first performance were a number of light pieces such as Mozart's "Sleigh Ride" and Dvorak's "Slavonic Dance." Local music teacher Mr Andrew Linklater was responsible for setting up the orchestra around six months ago and after Friday night's performance he said, "Everything has gone very well." Many of the orchestra's 23 members are still at school but it does include a large number of adult amateur muscians. After their weekend concert the orchestra will be taking a break until the beginning of a new season in the autumn. |
