| Amateur orchestra stages annual concert | ||
| The Deeside Orchestra will tomorrow stage
its annual concert in Aboyne Community Education Centre. The event marks a high note for one of the few amateur orchestras across the area. The Deeside Orchestra now has 40 members from afar afield as Westhill and Braemar and has recently added flutes, bassoon, violas and trumpet. Under conductor Andy Linklater, the Deeside aims for a varied programme that not only appeals to a wider audience but also provides |
a depth of playing experience for the performers. The players include family groups of up to five. The 7:30pm concert will include music by Richard Rogers, Fauré, Strauss, Vaughan Williams and Haydn. The Orchestra will be joined by the Linklater Quartet, pianist Hugh Melvin and cellist William Linklater. The orchestra and Guests will welcome the audience backstage during the evening event. |
